at haight-ashbury

i was walking down haight street in san francisco this afternoon with the hepburns and this skinny guy walked past and when i look at him again i thought he looked a bit like the drummer from my disco. i had another look and realised that it was! So I chased after him and had a bit of a chat. it was awesome, eh. he remembered going to my house that day when we were recording group vocals for the BLC christmas single. he was with a member of the grey dayturas cos they've been touring together a bit here. he told me to go to their show that was tonight. It ended up that i (very unfortunately) couldn't go because the hepburns and i had a rehearsal this evening cos they're going to join me to be my band for a few songs at these gigs. it sounded pretty cool, its great to have a real organic band to do my songs with.

monday

today seemed quite long and we did a lot of stuff. fancy breakfast by alexander, photo shoot on a traffic island, guitar shopping, eating pizza, matt discovering root beer, goth techno rehearsal, listening to rekkids, hangin out..

"So far, the carpark is my favorite part of America"

or something like that, said Pat Grover, Hepburns drummer. After Alexander and I picked up the Hepburns from San Francisco airport.
So far there's no exciting news except that Welsh people are awesome and my new guitar looks nice and sparkly. Today we'll go shopping for a new guitar for Matt, and I have a band practice for some goth techno band. I'll explain later.
alexander bailey has an awesome record collection, and the shelves also deserve their own mention.
yep.

its a tour blog?

Cos I'm about to go on a big travelling trip, people asked if I'm going to make a tour diary or something. Also because a tax accountant told me that if I make a diary that records how much time is spent on promotional activities, I can claim a portion of my expenses as tax deductions.

So, the first gig of this tour was last night, in my backyard. The next gig will be in Monterey, California, I think. Join me as I travel through the USA, Canada, UK, Norway, Sweden, Thailand. Not all of these places are for playing gigs, some of it is for hanging out with folks, eh.

Pictured here is Sam J. Nicholson, joined by Annaliese and Dave. A nice number of odd people showed up, and it was a good night,. Even though I totally butchered some of my own songs, people somehow liked it. I sold a few CDs and badges. Yeah, badges, eh.
Badgers are cool.
